This page explains what personal data BYT collects when you write to us or place an order, why we need it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.

Who we are

BYT makes hand-knitted horse ear bonnets and fly veils. Head office: Limassol, Cyprus. If you have any question about your data, write to horseears.byl@gmail.com — this is the address that handles all privacy requests.

What we collect

  • Order details: the name and delivery address of the parcel, your email address, and optionally a phone number or messenger handle, so we can confirm the order and the delivery.
  • What you ask us to make: the model, colours, edging, rhinestones and your horse's measurements. Measurements belong to your horse, not to you personally.
  • Correspondence: the letters you send us, so we can answer and keep the order history.
  • Payment confirmation: the fact and amount of the payment. We never see or store your card number — payments are made through your bank or PayPal.
  • Site statistics: anonymous data about visits (pages viewed, country, device) collected with Google Analytics. It is not linked to your name.

Why we need it

We use your data to knit and post your order, to confirm the measurements and the price, to answer your questions before and after the sale, and to keep the records that accounting rules require. We do not use your data for advertising and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

Only with the companies that make the delivery possible: the postal or courier service that carries the parcel (it needs the name and address), and the bank or PayPal that processes the payment. They receive only what is necessary for their part of the work.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as accounting rules require. Letters that did not lead to an order are kept for up to 24 months, so that we can find your measurements if you come back. You can ask us to delete them earlier.

Cookies

The site uses the technical cookies that make the shopping cart work, and Google Analytics cookies that show us anonymous visit statistics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the cart may then stop working.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can ask for a copy in a portable form. Write to horseears.byl@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you believe your data was handled incorrectly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. The current version applies from 22 October 2026.
